NFS Carbon is not as deep or as satisfying than Most Wanted. The new innovation of "wing-men" is a good idea but in practise really doesn't work that well. Game Review Profile
Xbox 360 review summary :
GAMEPLAY
8.6
It's not as deep or difficult as NFS Most Wanted. The police chases are more intense but they really are an irrelevant part of the game because, unlike in Most Wanted when you had to engage in chases to earn rep, in Carbon you don't. The mini-games are fun though and the canyon duels are the biggest new addition. The career mode is also less substantial than in Most Wanted.
GRAPHICS
8.8
Autoscript is in full force here with sleek, smooth cars as the racing scene returns to the night in Carbon. The scenery looks cool and the game plays without any framerate issues.
LONGEVITY
8.7
Carbon doesn't quite have the lasting appeal of Most Wanted, but the online racing will keep those of us with a decent connection playing online far past completion of the career mode.
PRESENTATION
8.7
The NFS series has some of the most slick and relevant presentation in sports gaming and NFS:Carbon is no different. The popular FMV cutscenes from last year (NFS:Most Wanted) are back again and those will develop the storyline throughout the career mode. The racing presentation and menus are all nicely done.
SOUND
8.9
The EA Trax are good and the sound effects in the game are a great complement to the fast paced racing.
