| Franchise mode disappointment for Madden 11 |
You know something is wrong when a blog is posted asking for ideas on a new franchise mode for Madden 12, but we're supposed to be talking about Madden NFL 11. But today, the news emerging from the official Madden 11 blog was that nothing of any substance has been added to franchise mode or superstar mode for Madden NFL 11.
We feel great about where we’ve taken the foundation of Madden NFL and are ready to refocus on building Franchise and SuperStar from the ground up. We have already assembled a team fully dedicated on setting the vision for what Franchise and SuperStar modes can and should be in the future. Since we are starting with a clean canvas heading into Madden NFL 12, we want the community to help us shape our direction- starting NOW. Let us know what you’d like to see in Madden career modes in the future. We’re not just looking for small add-ons either. We want your big ideas. What would revolutionize career modes in your opinion? |
| Asking gamers for their ideas of what to include in a brand new franchise mode for Madden is admirable. However, given that we've been telling the Madden developers for years what we wanted to see from franchise mode it's a concern that we are doing so with Madden 11 still months from being released. Are EA telling us that the game should be considered a write-off for fans of franchise and superstar modes. Throw in the fact that the Madden 11 franchise mode will still be inferior to that seen on PlayStation 2 and first generation Xbox versions of Madden and it is an inexcusable indictment. The NCAA development team appear to be able to innovate, add new features year-on-year and develop across many different areas of the game - why not Madden ? |
