The Official PlayStation Blog has posted up an interview with MLB 10 The Show cover athlete Joe Mauer, catcher for the Minnesota Twins.
"This week, Minnesota Twins catcher and AL MVP Joe Mauer was in the motion capture studio to, um, run around in spandex with a glove and bat. The results will be apparent when the game hits early next month. In the meantime, Mauer took time to chat with us about his incredible 2009 season, what it's like to show up on the cover of a game, and how some Major Leaguers use games (like The Show) to scout out opponents in advance. Oh, and working with our (M)VP, Kevin Butler." |

| MLB Today comes to MLB 2k10 |

Hot on the heels of the NBA Today feature in NBA 2k10 and something similar in NHL 2k10 comes MLB Today - a brand new feature in the upcoming MLB 2k10 release from 2k Sports.
"MLB® Today incorporates actual MLB stats from the real games being played every day and uses it to drive the commentary and other presentation elements in the game. In the past you have booted your Major League Baseball 2K game and landed at a team select screen. When it came to commentary, overlays, and overall presentation, your game was happening as an absolutely independent event. It was a fantasy matchup that had no real-world context aside from the players, team uniforms and stadiums. There was a limited list of subjects the commentators could discuss. They could talk about what was happening in that particular game and they could talk about what happened last season."

The MLB 10 developers have posted their latest update over on the Official PlayStation Blog.
"One of our goals going into this year was to finally enable the ability to mimic your real-life counterpart rosters when in Franchise mode. In order to do so, we had to allow all 30 teams to be set for user control. Before we could even dive into that, we had to change up how profiles and options work." |
